Regional Flavours 15 & 16 July
We live in the sunshine state, and from our sundrenched soil comes some pretty incredible tasting produce, wine and craft beers. Regional Flavours presented by the Courier-Mail in Brisbane, celebrates all of these things and best of all, it’s free.
Regional Flavours attracts over 80,000 food and wine lovers to South Bank Parklands over two days and is home to over 80 of Queensland’s best farmers, producers and providores; live cooking demonstrations by culinary talent including author and chef Tobie Puttock, Network Ten’s The Living Room’s Miguel Maestre and Logan Food Ambassador Poh Ling Yeow; live music and much more.
The Queensland Taste Stage is an immersive foodie experience, where guests can get up close and personal with the best local produce on offer from the main growing regions of Queensland. Demonstrations by Queensland chefs are accompanied by taste tests and the stage surrounds are dotted with a wine and cheese trail for more sipping and snacking. Settle on your favourite drop, kick back in the winter sunshine and enjoy live music at the nearby City Sounds Stage.
It’s a meat-lover’s paradise at The Hunting Club Stage, where you can witness lamb and beef cooking demonstrations, butchery masterclasses and hear stories from South East Queensland graziers. Handily located right next door is a bustling bistro that matches the meats with malts from lunchtime ‘til late on both Saturday and Sunday. Craft breweries from around South-East Queensland are tapped at the bar, along with well-known Queensland wines to suit all palates.
Take advantage of the perfect winter sunshine and indulge in a picnic put on by the Lockyer Valley Region at The Picnic Patch.
Eat your way around the world with global dishes served all along Little Stanley Street, run by South Bank’s most popular eateries. The eatSouthBank Street Stalls offer fast, fresh and tasty meals that are easy on the hip pocket and perfect for walking and talking.
Ditch the diet and indulge in sugary treats and freshly-brewed espresso by Merlo at Sweet Escape – a decadent space dedicated to dessert. Budding farmers and miniature foodies can also enjoy plenty of fun at the festival, with a line-up of free kids activities on offer weekend long.
The beautiful River Quay Green transforms into a gourmet lawn party with five-star food and cocktails by the river. It’s a popular place to take time out from the crowds and kick back with some friends to the sounds of live music and the sparkling city skyline views. Regional Flavours is the perfect weekend away for any food and wine aficionado, and it’s entirely FREE.
